Naomi Hunt, LMFT

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

My goal in sessions is to help everyone feel heard, respected and like they have a solid understanding of where their journey in life is taking them. My hope is to provide a safe space in which I can help all parties communicate, set expectations, have dreams about their journeys and relationships as well as celebrate growing families.

Naomi Hunt (she/her) spent over thirteen years working in the field of early childhood education. During that time, Naomi saw an increasing need for mental health support for children and families. This inspired Naomi to complete a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simpson University in Redding, California in 2010. During this same time Naomi’s own family was expanding through adoption, which furthered her interest in children’s mental health issues. Naomi went on to obtain her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from National University’s Redding campus. The majority of Naomi’s practicum and associate hours were spent assisting children and parents with addressing mental health and behavioral needs that interfered with their children’s education. Naomi provided in-home/school support to help children generalize new skills in all areas of their life. Then in 2020 Naomi opened her own private practice assisting people of all ages with managing mood disorders, parenting issues, trauma, anxiety, life changes and of course, children’s behavior issues.

Naomi’s interest in assisted reproduction began during her master’s program when a friend embarked on a journey as a gestational carrier. After much soul searching, Naomi decided that she also wanted to be a gestational carrier and went on to carry three babies for two different international couples. This experience opened the doors to a career path in the mental health aspects of assisted reproduction. During her last surrogacy journey Naomi began working with other surrogates, conducting psychological assessments and offering support sessions throughout their journeys. In this way, Naomi has been able to continue following her passion for surrogacy and assisted reproduction even after completing her final journey as a surrogate.

In her free time Naomi enjoys spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and dogs. They can be found in the beautiful nature of Northern California camping, hiking or taking their Jeep out on an overlanding trip.
